Welcome day

A series of presentations will be conducted by Chalmers, the Student Union and CIRC. You will also get the welcome bag with a map, coupons, a sim card and so on. During this day you will get all the important information you need.

Campus Tour

On this day, you will get to see all the important places at Campus Johanneberg, learn some fun facts and hopefully pick up some Chalmers jargon by the end of the tour. Come and find out more about places where you can grab a quick lunch, buy good coffee, buy your course material, find a quiet place to study or cool off after a long day.

Afterwork

It’s one of the not so Swedish traditions, that people and students in this country have grown fond of. Every Friday, some pubs and restaurants have Afterwork specials with a free buffet and happy hour prices in the bar.

Tram Race

Tram Race involves exploring Göteborg city with you friends while solving riddles, taking lots of pictures and earning points while doing some fun things around the city.

Train party

It is at one of the most fun party venues on campus, the Train Wagon.

This is the first train party of the semester and it is a Chalmers tradition, so make sure to get a ticket soon!

International Dinner

Wouldn’t it be awesome to be able to taste food from all over the world? Well, International Dinner is exactly that kind of event which lets you do such a thing! Here every participant cooks and brings a few portions of food that is specific to their own nationality. This then turns into a buffet of food from all over the world!

So, What is a “Sauna Trip”?

It’s a trip with sittning at a sauna. You will leave from Chalmers on a bus and travel about 45 minutes to a beautiful lake called Sandsjön, East of Gothenburg. The Sauna sits on the very edge of the lake, so you can swim as well! The Sauna is in a cosy cabin that has a kitchen and dining area with a fireplace.

After you get there, you will have fun playing some games and chopping wood for the Sauna, after which you will be able to get ready to get into the Sauna which will probably by now be nice, hot and ready for you! Once you are done with the Sauna, we will serve you dinner at a sittning in the dining hall where you will be able to eat, sing, drink and be merry until it is time for you to leave!

Sauna Trip

What is a Sauna?

Well, a sauna is basically a small cabin which has a heating facility. This enables the cabin to have raised levels of temperature, usually in the order of 70 – 90°C. We must mention that Chalmers owns one of the biggest wood fired saunas in all of Scandinavia. This monster can seat up to 60 people at the same time!
